Dental cleaning/check up.
It’s important to have your teeth cleaned regularly to ensure that your mouth, teeth and gums are at their healthiest. Cleanings can help prevent against cavities, tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer and several other conditions.
We offer a basic cleaning, known as a prophylaxis. This involves the removal of plaque, calculus and stains from the teeth using a hand or ultrasonic instrument. We use this cleaning for patients that have no evidence of periodontal disease. After the cleaning, your dental hygienist will provide you with home-care instructions and fluoride treatments that can help maintain the benefits of the prophylaxis.
You may need a deep cleaning. If that is the case, your dentist and oral hygienist will talk with you about the benefits and ways that it fits your needs.
